Account & Data Deletion

At Crossa, we respect your privacy and provide you with complete control over your personal data in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time.

1 Method 1: In-App Instant Deletion (Self-Service)

You can immediately delete your account and personal profile directly within the Crossa Android app or web portal:

  1. Open the Crossa App on your device or sign in at crossa.africa.
  2. Tap your Profile / User Menu icon in the top header or navigation bar.
  3. Select Delete Account from the account menu.
  4. Read the security confirmation prompt and confirm your deletion request.
  5. Your account is instantly deactivated, authentication credentials are revoked, and profile data is queued for permanent purging.

2 Method 2: Email Request (For users who uninstalled the app)

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot log in, submit a deletion request to our compliance team:

Send an email to: compliance@crossa.africa

Subject line: Account and Data Deletion Request

Include: The phone number and/or email address registered with your Crossa account.

Our compliance team processes web/email requests within 48 hours and sends a final confirmation email upon completion.

What Data Is Permanently Deleted?

  • Personal Information: Your full name, phone number, email address, delivery addresses, and avatar.
  • Authentication Credentials: Firebase Auth UID, Google / Apple sign-in connections, session tokens, and passwords.
  • Device Tokens: Push notification tokens (FCM) and marketing communication preferences.
  • AI Chat History & Vision Searches: Any product queries, saved price comparisons, and image search scans.

⚖️ Statutory Retention Notice

In accordance with South African Revenue Service (SARS) and Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) customs regulations, cross-border commercial invoices and customs declarations for packages that have already cleared borders are retained for the mandatory statutory period (5 years) for tax and customs audit compliance. This data is strictly archived, inaccessible for marketing or user profiling, and automatically purged once the statutory period expires.
